1. What kind of brought you into city council and what are some of the things that you are super proud of that you’ve accomplished on the city council?

I was brought into the city council because I felt that there was a need for diverse perspectives, especially from women. One of the things I’m proud of is our fiscal responsibility. We’ve managed to maintain a good financial standing without going on a spending spree, which has put us in a great position for growth.

2. What are some of the challenges Highland City is currently facing?

One of the challenges we are facing is maintaining the charm and unique feel of our city while still allowing for growth and development. We also have to manage our resources wisely, especially with regards to our buildings and infrastructure.

3. What makes Highland City special and attractive to people moving from other states?

Highland City has a unique charm and feel that differentiates it from other cities. We have community gathering places and events like the Highland fling that bring the community together. We also have a strong sense of fiscal responsibility, which makes us attractive for growth.

4. How has COVID-19 affected community activities and gatherings in Highland City?

COVID-19 has led to a reduction in community activities and gatherings. We’ve had to cut out a lot of things and we haven’t added everything back in yet. This has led to feelings of isolation among some residents, especially among women and the youth.
